Jamil Jaffer - Director

Experience

Prior to joining GBI as a Director, Jamil Jaffer was at Accenture where he held responsibilities in business development and change management. At Accenture he worked on various client projects in addition to internal strategic assignments.

Jamil helped clients develop change management and change leadership frameworks to facilitate operating cost efficiencies and created organisation structure and job designs in order to enable business transformation change. Additionally, he created and analysed in depth surveys built to capture Accenture's internal capabilities.

Jamil has served clients across various industry sectors including: retail, public services, pharmaceuticals, financial services and telecoms.

Called "JJ" by his friends, Jamil was born and raised on Canada's West Coast. He completed his first degree at The University of Western Ontario and then moved to the UK to attend graduate school. Upon moving to London in 2001, Jamil worked Friday and Saturday evenings at a local 50 seat restaurant. He also holds a Master's in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics. Jamil has contributed to Restaurant Magazine.

Interests

Jamil is a Director of the Alumni Western UK Foundation, which audits the Foundation's assets, provides advice and input to fundraising strategies.
At an early age, Jamil was hailed by his father as a "see-food" eater. He loves all kinds of cuisine and has a comfort food dish in each. An avid sports fan, Jamil has travelled extensively to virtually every part of the world and enjoys different cultures.
