History of GBI
GBI was created to take the world’s leading management and business structures from major multi-national companies, Big-4 management consultancies, senior directors and all levels of workforces and apply them directly to the food/retail/hospitality industry.
We questioned why the most successful, tried-and -tested management processes were not being applied to the world’s food and retail companies. That combined with the fact that, having previously worked in every other sector in the world, including Energy, Telecoms, Government and Financial Services, GBI loved the food/retail/hospitality industry so much that we decided to specialise, and given our experience in working with the financial sector, opened our eyes to this market segment.
To help GBI realise this vision, David Gibson enlisted a group of investors to bring this vision to life and validate the business model. GBI’s investors include:
Ivo Sauer, an energy broker at one of the biggest trading company’s, brings additional lens to both how GBI structures its financial transactions as well as clients.
Tim Johnson, a senior operations director at the London Stock Exchange, brings deep process and IT knowledge to the team and to the industry.
Mike Teryazos, Founder and MD of a direct execution financial brokerage called Pinnacle Capital Markets. Mike brings a wealth of experience regarding company structures and entrepreneurialism.
Rohan Gunatillake is at NESTA and brings leading-edge thought capital to GBI and its clients. NESTA is the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts - a unique and independent body with a mission to make the UK more innovative.
GBI has been especially busy during the recent economic hard times, where having a profitable and streamlined company is increasingly crucial for success and growth.
We are really excited for the future and ensuring that our clients’ organisations are doing exactly what they want at the right time, consistently, and as quickly as possible while delivering ever-growing profitability.
